how often should the drive shaft oil be changed on a GT1600???? it's 2011

It should be done every 12,000 miles.

But many folks drain it more frequently to check for swarf that might indicate bearing wear issues before they become terminal.

For the small quantity involved in refilling, this is good practice.

I have used Motul Gear 300 fully synthetic for many years in oilhead gearbox and FD, it is a noticeable improvement over mineral oils.
