Oil filler/Dipstick.

Just cross threaded the oil filler /dipstick on my 800GS AGAIN!!!. This is my second 800GS and after doing this on my first I was well wary,very very careful,BUT IT STILL HAPPENED!Am I totally club fisted or has anybody else suffered from this?
I am replacing it with the lockable touratech item from Nippy Norman which is aluminium,not plastic toffee stuff that the BMW one is made from.
By the way, when the parcel turned up at work,our secretary thought Nippy Norman sounded like some bizarre mail order porno set-up!!
£56 is a dear do for a dipstick,but at least it won't cross thread when screwed into a warm engine.

Whether it is a watch crown or a dipstick, always turn it the opposite direction a quarter turn or so before trying to screw it in.
It'll seat it correctly and then away you go and never a stripped thread.
Hope your Touratech locking dipstick arrives assembled and not in pieces like mine did which prompted the Touratech thread.
