470cc - any grade ( i use 10w, but it's not important) . but why are you changing the oil, there's no need for seal change.

Thanks for the reply Steptoe. I've had a leak on the fork for some time and have just began dismanteling the forks and read the section in the manual, which read, 'top up the sliders with the recommended oil'. If I haven't got to do the oil that's fine, but if it needs topping up, can you tell me how is this acheived? Regards, Jeff

Oil level is about 3-4 inches from the top of the fork leg. If you really want to be perfect. Take out the fork leg on the other side, and fill to the same level.

Thanks again for the help. I'll go for the 3 or 4 inchs as I've never been a one for being perfect, according to my two previous wives. Back to the shed now!

Thanks for that Neil, it was brilliant. Much better than even my Haynes Manual. If I had see this earlier today I would have done the job in no time, instead of half the day. Thanks Again, Jeff
