Oil Head Service day on the South Coast

BMW OIL HEAD SERVICE DAY SUNDAY 29TH MARCH 2015
ON THE SUNNY SOUTH COAST
A hands on day lead by the one and only “Steptoe” numbers are limited so please let me know of your interest to confirm your place. The location is in the New Forest between Brockenhurst and Lymington
Scott Braye runs a company Rib Repair Ltd and has kindly offered his premises to host the day, he is also the owner of an HP2.
Start 9 / 9.30 Coffee Tea and Bacon sandwiches. The day will be led by Neil with an R1150gs service, this will be a totally hands on day and hopefully answer all the questions re the day to day running and servicing of your bike.
We will break for lunch and conclude the day around 4.30, the venue is totally undercover so whatever the weather there is plenty of room for all owner’s bikes and riders. It is also hoped that Rugged Roads will be with us on this day maybe with some spring offers to tempt you with.

Rib Repair Ltd, Setley Ridge Vineyard, Lymington Road, Brockenhurst. SO42 7UF
(This will be signposted from the entry to the Vineyard on the day)
The charge for the day including all refreshments on arrival, lunch and afternoon tea.
£25.00 limited to 12 participants

I'd love to attend but have a Hexhead. Can I assume I will be able to transfer a fair few of the skills over to my 2010? Or would I be lost and it be awkward for oilseeds?

Great idea Jeremy, I'll be there if am still around. Picked up the 1100GS just before Christmas, it's mint and have been enjoying it immensely on cold dry days, once I worked out that the starter was knackered (the Valeo units drop the planetary gear retainer gradually into the motor winding, causing an unfathomable drain on power when starting). See you for a ride soon I hope, and thanks for letting me know about this.

Same principal of work on both bikes, valve adjustment and end float identical methods, basically it's just different fitting of air filters between the two bikes - I'll also be advising what to do if you have a 1200 and giving tips on how to make work easier on the things people seem to have trouble with.

I used to be a subscriber years ago when I had my first GS. A few changes in between now and then and I've not found anything that comes close, so I'm back again!

I've not subscribed this time only due to time constraints with work and family not allowing me enough time to partake in the forum with any sort of conviction.
I plan on subscribing in the near future when I actually have time to concentrate on my bike. Until then I wondered if I could partake in this event? (At which point I will be paid up/subscribed)

I've always self serviced when possible, and although I'm confident I can follow a manual, watching a pro in action would be invaluable.

Brilliant. dont want to seem forward here...but ...Hands on: is that hands on the bike Neil brings or hands on our own? i.e. can we bring things that he'll cover, to then do on own bikes under supervision? as in would defo want to be confident on valve clearances etc (which I know Steppers will cover) ?
