OIL LEAK f650 gs 2003

hi guys new to the gs world my bike was over filled with oil now at the correct level,however i have a leak around the alternator cover where the wire goes into the engine.is this normal place for leaks on this model

I cant give you any technical advice myself Stroud but I've bumped your thread into this section for you where I think you'll get more response.

BTW if its been run overfilled it might have come out of the crank seal into the alternator at a guess ..... like I said I'm sure somebody will be along soon to give you some advice.

Check to see if all the screws that hold the cover to the engine are tight,they're not always tightened fully from new.Should be 9 nM. Check the clutch cover ones as well, they're prone to being loose as well.

hi,di you over fill it?
have you checked/emptied the airbox?
there is a small overflow pipe that may be leaking oil, if it was overfilled.
