oil leak from rear of engine 1200gsa???

just got back from morocco and had an oil leak from the rear underneath at the back of the engine.it seems to be around the gear box.i took the bike into bmw moto sud in narbonne and he tells me its a seal and they need to strip it out and also replace the clutch.
the tech said its fairly common for this to happen??
anyone else had similar problems.its a 2009 gsa with 60+ kms .they have told me it will be covered under warranty so hopefully a happy result!!!

Was a common problem with earlier 1200s, mine had to be stripped down and sorted, done under the extended warranty thankfully, as it is time consuming and would produce a large labour bill for a few quids worth of seals.

Shame they haven't managed to solve this problem, used to happen on 1150s too.
