Evening all, I've started noticing a small oil leak on the RHS cylinder , around the barrel gasket as opposed to the cylinder head. Not sure what prompted this, I ve now got 54k miles on her and have been doing some 'spirited ' riding of late :) any one else had similar experiences at this age ( 94 plate) or mileage?
Thanks Steve

Had similar (I think) on my 1100 after a plug change as I'd dislodged the plug hole gasket; for want of a better description.

Oil leak ?

Is it dripping oil ?
Is it just oil staining ?

I would say a small amount of dripping onto the exhaust , but after a week and 2k miles of fast riding I could see the footpeg, brake lever had a covering of dirt due to the film of oil which hasnt happened before.

have you tried washing the bike , a strange concept but .....

then you will see where the oil is coming from.
If its running on the stand warming up I dont see anything, its only after a long run where I've been working the engine ( usually chasing a KTM 1290 :) )

You’re taking it easy then? If you were really on it, the 1290 would be chasing you.

Is it a sweep stake?
I’m going with a corroded alloy sealing washer on the cam chain tensioner,
Or hedging bets on the oil cooler feed or temp sensor sealing washer.
Let me know what I win.😁😆
Three dead AAA batteries from my kitchen draw….. free postage, or I could deliver if you make me a cup of tea when I get there…….
