oil leak

Iv'e got oil leaking from the top breather on my final drive (1150gs)
any sugestions why this might happen, it was after a long motorway ride i think.

Difficult to overfill them (fill hole acts as level) but worth checking.
Are the filter and cap of the breather seated OK?.

Dont worry, a lot of shaft drive bikes do it, its usually due to the cold oil being driven fast, it being thicker than hot oil, it can get to the breather, you maybe had a little to much in, as most fill it untill it starts to run out then they put the filler plug back on, dont worry about it

Yep that makes perfect sense! When i serviced it i kept spinning the back wheel as i was filling it to get as much as i could in, TIT!!!

Had a similar problem riding in the alps on a hot day, saw oil on the back tyre, but when checked the level was still ok. Guess i put the plug in too quick as well ?
