Oil leak

Noticed over the last couple of days that there is oil coming from the shaft somewhere on my 22k mile bike. It is collecting in a ring around the centre of the rear wheel (around the hole that goes through to the other side - there is a black plastic ring around the metal). After an hours riding it can be wiped off with your finger but it does seem to be getting worse. Assuming my crap location description can be understood, I wondered if anyone could offer an opinion as to whether to rush it back to the dealer or if it will wait a couple of weeks until the next service? Thanks.

If it is still under warranty, take it back to the dealer for a check as it sounds like the rear drive unit shaft seal is leaking. It may be slight now, but you don't want a major oil seal failure in the middle of nowhere on an inevitably cold rainy night (which is when sods law dictates that the inevitable will happen).

....had a similar thing. Was in the shop for three weeks waiting for a special tool from Germany to replace the seal. Hope you have more luck
