Just done a 100 mile ride , can't work out what the CC message is, nothing specific on the message but the old level warning on my vehicle is just showing ---
Level looks normal.
Any ideas ?

The assessment of some values is only possible from a certain journey duration or speed. If a measured value is still not being displayed because the conditions for measurement have not been met, dashes are displayed in- stead as a placeholder. If there are no valid measured values, there will be no assessment in the form of a coloured symbol

Does this mean a sensor failure ?

I've had trouble on the older 1200 as the oil level sensor failed (very common issue) but I ignore it as the oil level in the glass is visible and fine. I was going to have the sensor replaced but won't bother since it'll likely only fail again. It usually won't register until the bike is up to temperature and sat level off the side stand and left to tickover for a short while. I was advised that a software update might fix it, but it didn't.

Dick lovett reckon it wasn't up to temp but I was on a return from a 100 mile ride, filtering for about 5 miles so temperature was defiantly up there , oil in the glass is ok , will suck it and see I guess , if still an issue at the first service - well well go from there.
Ambiant temp was 10 - 12 deg max.
well se how much it bothers me later on.

Mine is intermittent on my 1200RS. Only very occasionally does it work, then it fails to register again and it could be a few months before it decides to spring into life. I wouldn't worry about it. Oil in the glass is all that matters. I'd be more concerned to see an oil pressure warning light tbh.

They're famously (infamously?) unreliable sensors Zoton. If under warranty you can get it sorted but I'm not spending my hard earned on replacing mine.
