okey dokey,i've gotta ring this one in...........

i have changed my engine oil and filter and set the level correctly in the glass and after running it twice the level went over the top of the window, no probs....i bled someout till it was correct and ran it again.
The level then went so low it was not visible so i topped it up again till it was good and after running it once more the level was back over the window.

the bike was ridden between checking and was set on center stand on a level garage floor

is this a common thing with 1100's, i just can't seem to get it to stay at a constant level.

i'm not getting anal about this but don't want to blow any seals by over filling and don't want to run it with low oil. A small fluxuation is ok but these levels are going from too high to too low with small ammounts of oil going in and out.

I fill mine by amount, not by visual sight through the window.

It always fills the window completely. I then check it in a thousand miles.
If i can see oil in the window i don't worry about it.

it helps to always check it at the same time - i.e. first thing in the morning, or when you park it up at the end of the day. Never check it at both times or you'll get yourself confused.
