After an engine rebuild, i have fitted a temporary oil pressure giuage to watch whats going on in the engine.
Does anyone know what pressure should be seen when the bike is on tickover but very warm (100 mile dash today) ?
Thanks all.

Been there, done that!

Hi Newbuild,

The oil pressure should not go below 0.5 bar (oil warning light)

Normal pressure @ 80°C should be 1.0 - 2.0 bar @ 800rpm
Normal pressure @ 80°C should be 4.0 - 5.0 bar @ 4000rpm
Filter bypass valve opens ar 1.5 bar
Pressure relief valve opens at 5.0 bar

For my mad experiance of oil pressure go to, post 41 on the following thread

Thanks very much for the above info guys.
After rebuilding the bottom end of the bike, and 100 miles of "running in" the new shells yesterday, everything seems well so far. (no strange noises etc).
The temporary guage certainly made interesting reading and going off the above, everything seems in order so far.
Mileage and revs increase booked in for tomorrow.

Thanks all, once more.
