Oil pressure warning light on then off after a few mins.

Hello.

The oil pressure warning light on my 2005 R1150gsa stays on when the engine is started, but goes off when the oil temp reaches 1 bar.

I'm not too concerned as the engine sounds like it's running well, the oil level is correct.

I was wondering if this could be as simple as a sticky pressure switch?

The bike is due an oil change and was wondering if it could be to do with needing an oil change?

I doubt its anything serious, but id think its a dodgy switch. I wouldn't think its anything to do with needing a service unless your oil is like treacle. Do an oil change and fit new switch.

Seems to be frequent when the weather is very wet and the switch shorts to earth. The later switches are different with a proper plug instead of a bare spade end terminal.

Can you not just remember be it and spray with wd40 or use die electric grease?

Tried disconnecting the switch. Light goes out.

Tried using wd40 on the plug but still n/g.

New switch ordered and will be here Friday!

Replaced the oil pressure switch on Saturday. Found the original sticking. Cleaned out and works ok now so at least I have a spare.
