Anyone got any idea why this is happening, where is it coming from ?

Is it from the seal on the crank behind the clutch ?

put some on your finger & smell it, gearbox oil is quite distinctive.

i'd guess it's engine oil though :(

I did, you're spot on, I'm certain it's engine oil. I think it has to be that
seal, I can't think of any other place it could be coming from.
That's not a small job. :blast

Take the starter motor off and have a good look inside.

But it doesn't look good :eek

If it is the crank seal leaking don't wait until your clutch is slipping before you change it, because you'll have to change the clutch as well. Bite the bullet and change the seal ASAP and save some money.

Steptoe,

What would cause the seal to go after shortish service, please?
Or, tpiaw (to put it another way, i just invented that), what should Mr. Daithi watch out for?

Bin

Check its not just the last dregs of oil from when they changed the crank seal - a very small quantity always seems to look like a lot when it leaks out.
