It's the Cambrian rally again!
So the blokes are off to Wales for their annual folly of beer, mud and errrr ... more beer.
But .... this time I've bowed out of the event (I have punished Cato enough this year) and three of us are going to have a spank on some of the famous Welsh roads instead.
And ..... Bloody hell! They're good!! (So good i haven't got any pictures!!)
We head up to the Cambrian start to see the boys off and wish them well.

It's a bit of a misty start and the roads are a tad damp, but they are great for an 1190 on steroids. I am just loving this bike!! It is BRILLIANT!
The suspension set up is just perfect, it soaks up the road superbly, and the motor is just fantastic. I love the 21'' front on the road, (just ever so slightly slower - perfect for holding a line and not coming off it early) and that too of course soaks up everything infront of it.
It really is the perfect B road hooner.

The Rally itself is the usual affair of good humour and comradeship. We park up and see the boys off ...

before heading off on a 170 mile loop that takes in most of the Elan valley and of course Devils Bridge / waterfalls.

Bloody hell!! What a road! From Aberystwyth to Devils falls. Simply stunning - that proper rollercoaster of left right, up down laguna seca cork screw stuff. And empty!! I'm from the south east (one of the reasons why I play B roads) and it's a joy to be able to actually ride a road without bloody traffic on it!
We head off round the Elan reservoir.
.. and generally have one of the best days riding I've had in years. I doff my hat to you Jonno and crew - your roads are just fantastic!

We head back to our base in LLandovery in time to catch the Rugby (sorry boys! Good effort) and a few pints before the enduro boys get back.
Day two, and pretty much the same rules, see the guys off first.
And am I glad i didn't enter on Cato!!

This would not have been much fun on an 1190!

Not one of the riders (and these are the front runners!) made it without help from the marshals,

Even les on the other 1190 walked down the bank and got stuck in!

We wished them well and headed off for another play, more great roads - some fast A, (no pics, but the A40 from Brecon to LLandovery is just a corker!) and some B roads over the hills.

....And home! That's it! Short and sweet!
Thank you Wales !!
