Saw it and a few other nice bikes at an agricultural show in Cumbria at the weekend.

Sweet looking bike :)

I'm not knowledgeable enough to recognise the engine but I do know that when CCM started up they used 500cc BSA B50 engines so maybe it's one of them :nenau

Clews Competition Machines bought up the old BSA stocks..so it will be a B40/50 summat. There was an article in Bike magazine..The man who bought 40,000 clutch plates.

if you squint at it (or leave yer specs off in my case) - yes, looks very BSA.

A well modded bsa B40 or perhaps even a C15, it's along time since I rode one and they look sort of similar.

Nice enough but quite fragile in tuned form

Another from the same show:

Bet stopping it is interesting :D

The EMC next to it was something I lusted after in my formulative years. Remember seeing one leading a race at Charnock Richard (before it became Camelot) on one of the rare occasions that I got to an event. I ended up racing an Armstrong instead, which was one of the many incarnations of CCM.
As far as stopping them is concerned, the brakes were all as good or bad as each other. Keeping the pads clean and dry was the key to brake performance. When everyone is on a similar standard, you all use s similar braking marker.

CCM with the B50 motor ........ I owned one for a weekend ..... bought it from Windsor Comp Shop in the late 70's. They delivered it on the Friday in the back of a van then drove off. It was at this point that I realised it was bump start only (no kickstart included) :blast

They had it back come Monday :augie
