I have ordered these as I wanted the original "look" Turns out the order comprises of a large parts list. My question is has anyone had the OME lights fitted or more importantly has any fitted these lights themselves. I have been told by the dealer it is a job that can be 5 hours long, seems excessive for plug and play ??

Seems a little less than the 4 to % I was quoted. I haven't been quoted a fitting price, I though about an Hour but when I was told 4 to 5 I was clad all the parts had not arrived. I'd sure like to know how hard it would be to do myself< I am pretty fair with the spanners and like doing stuff myself.

The parts can be fitted quite easily, but I understand the bike needs to be plugged into the workshop computer to activate the canbus.

I think I'll try the installation as I can get the can bus turned on by the dealer without issue. Any chance there are some instructions or diagrams about ?

I did the install today, took about 2 hrs for me but this is due to caution and wanting the best solution for wire routing etc. I think as stated about 1 Hour at workshop should do it. They don't work as yet as I need to get the dealer to hook it up to the computer. I do have a copy of the dealer fitting instructions on PDF if any others need in the future.

Are you sure about the canbus adjustment?! Changed mine in about half an hour and they worked straight out of the box. 2011 MY GSA.

They do on your model but not on the water cooled bike.

It does say on the instructions that the bike needs to be hooked up? What is done is not clear. I can't see that I have missed anything.

I've just acquired a complete LED installation pack from my local BMW dealer to fit to my 2009 GS.

Opening up the boxes it seems that the plugs on the (supplied) main loom that connect to the LED units need to be changed for plugs that do fit the LED units. The correct plugs are supplied in the pack - plug one end, short length of twin core and two crimps on the two wires at the other end. That's a "cut and paste" rather than a "plug and play".

Not a big deal to swap but can anybody confirm before I get the pliers out?

You might be better off posting this in the Hexhead section as that's where the knowledge will be.

yep done this job a couple of times now, dont use the crimps, pare the wires back and solder and the insulate with shrink wrap, jobs a goodun

Onionman,
Yes I can confirm it will work on your bike, the led lights looks really nice and very bright, simply job once you have the parts.

Thanks for the feedback all. I'll go for the splicing / solder option 'cause I think it'll look neater than using an H11 adapter. I can understand not wanting to chomp a new loom, but if I ever sell the kit on I can restore with the original parts (I'm a wizz with the soldering iron and heat shrink!!).
Thanks again all..........

Sorry about the silly question... can anyone please tell me which switch operates the aux LED lamps... or does the kit come with it's own additional switch?

I went to the NEC and, whilst I was ogling the white GSA, noticed that the blue GSA had the lamps fitted, which was clearly wired up so that the lights worked. I intended to make my way over to the blue one and check out the switch, but got distracted (kid in a sweet shop style) and clean forgot - didn't think about it again until I was heading back down the M6! :blast

Additional switch at base of left hand mirror - or at least it is on my "Basic".
