found this the other day, looks like somewhere interesting to visit

Omey Island, just northwest of Galway.

The road markings seem to stay put and the beach becomes the road when the tide is out, deffo one for the list...

Omey is definitely worth a visit.

Coney island in Sligo bay is in the same category, ie you can drive out at low tide. Ideal for a bit of wild camping and it has a pub, at least it did a few years ago when I was there. :thumb

Incidentally, a point on the shoreline close to where you drive out to Coney is known officially as Gibraltar.

Oh! me, Oh! my . .

. .only if you plan to flog the bike soon afterwards, since, even when the tide is out, it is not possible to avoid puddles of sea water, which will wreak rust havoc in inaccessible places in short order.

I feel an excuse for a bike trip coming on!!!! :augie

12 pack of beer and a campfire... :beerjug:

or alternatively knowing irish weather, a hotel bar and a warm bed

nice pics Jimmy.. looks like a class run...

fingers crossed might squeeze one more weekend of good weather out of the year..
