Having picked up my F700GS only a few days ago, I'm still getting used to the many functions and symbols of the on-board computer but I have a question:

Is there no way to tell it to calculate / display things using Miles instead of Kilometers? i.e. reading on page 23 of the manual, we have:

Average consumption in l/100 km
Average speed in km/h
Current consumption in l/100 km

Thanks!

Apart from what it says in the manual...is your bike not set to miles?

I guess it depends on what you mean by "set". The major scale on the speedometer is in Miles Per Hour....does that mean all distance units on the LCD panel are in miles? The LCD panel itself doesn't display any units as far as I can see....just numerals.

Ok - if there are no units shown, put it another way... If on 'consumption' it shows for example 5.2 or 5.5, then that would be litres per 100 km. If it says 55 or 60 then it's miles per gallon!
If you look at the mileometer when you're doing 60mph and a minute later looking again shows it has gone up by '1' unit then... :D
If it's UK supplied it should read miles. But that can be changed by a dealer or someone with a GS-911.

Point taken....I will check :D. (the manual could be a little clearer :hammer)

Just re-reading this, I hadn't immediately appreciate how different these two things are:

One tells you how much fuel you've used for a fixed distance (metric)
The other tells you how far you've travelled for a fixed volume of fuel (imperial)

Weird what we get used to!
