On the tops again this week

I stopped, coming down Sissy Bank into Redmire to watch those two. Didn’t seem to be doing much other than slow manoeuvres at the time, about 2.30pm I think.

I think the same 2 Chinooks flew past us yesterday afternoon - came down from Yorkshire, callsigns KUKRI1 and KUKRI2, so no guesses as to the occupants!

They flew over us half a dozen times before disappearing. We did a lot of walking yesterday as the beating truck struggled on the untreated roads but the new shape Defender coped really well.

Combined Grouse and pheasant day yesterday with the owners family and that’s us about done. Might get a look out on Boxing Day all being well.
Hadn’t been in the barn for a while and forgot about the scarecrow collection they didn’t have much to say but the keeper mentioned that they were more switched on than the flankers !

Richard Imeson puts those out on Preston Moor, last one I saw had half His Lasses old kit on. I thought he’d put it out for a joke, looked more like it was off for a night with the Young Farmers in Northallerton !

Some of the mannequins are better dressed than the beaters !
