I've been having a wee South Georgia / Falklands reminiscenes thingy tonight. ..... and I've also just discovered how to scan photaes properly too if the truth be told actually......ho hum. Anyway the thing is, as you're obviously a bit of a Trouter, heres something I believe you'll appreciate.
The taste, fight and quality of the Sea Trout in FI are simply unique.
All of these were caught, on the fly, at the mouth of the Fitzroy river (Estuary type place)
Cooked lovingly with seasoned flour and that was about it. Georgeous. I have never, ever, tasted any kind of trout from anywhere like them. Pillar box red flesh and so tasty you wouldn't believe.
Weights were from 5lb down to 2 1/2 lb in this picture.
Please don't think they were killed for the sake of it either. Oh no, A vast swarm of starving sailors descended on these beauties believe me!
Suitably jealous? I hope so
If you can get yourself down there there you won't be disappointed.
