New £85 toy for the iPod. My daughter would kill for one of these. Hopefully I can keep the news supressed!

so which is best?

These new plug in speakers for the iPod ... which one is best?

The Bose one?
The JBL one?
The Altec Lansing one?
This iBoom thingy?

Or just stick with a cheap pair of PC speakers?

I can't say that I have compared them all BUT I have the Bose one and it's great. It fits all ipods, sounds great, keeps it charged and has a remote control - looks good too!

if you want a pair for travelling, the Sony SRS-T70 Personal Speakers are excellent. They fold up to the size of a cd (not depth tho) @ under £30 now (here)

They have a built in base function, so sound bigger than they are and not tinny, like small/cheap speakers tend to

Had a set of these for past 5 years and carried them all round the world, as well as in my bathroom.

Good sound, good battery life & robust construction. At under £30 a bargain.

Cheers!

I have seen those Sony speakers before, but remember them to be more expensive than £30.

Maybe treat myself to a pair for christmas.

On the other hand, not sure I need speakers unless I am on holiday ...

Used to retail at £50 and are that price in a lot of shops

Having heard them, at £30 they're a bargain.
