R1150GSA 2003 40k miles.
I've been having a problem with the engine cutting out intermittently, usually when the bike's cold and in the first couple of minutes. Once I'd turned the ignition off and back on it has been ok.
I checked all the usual stuff like side stand switch, ignition wire to switch, fuelling etc.
I was beginning to wonder if it was the Hall Sensor failing when cold as it could have been temperature related.
I also had no record of the fuel filter being changed so wondered about that.
Anyhow it turned out to be the internals in the ignition switch. Now sorted, £70 later
The wires were perfectly ok so it wasn't a stress fracture causing it.
I also did the fuel filter at the same time and found it hadn't ever been changed. I cut the old one open and found the corrugated paper was black on the inlet side. I expect the bike will go like a raped ape now
