I think some of the Ride lab tests recognise that textiles just don't have the durability of dry leather when you're sliding up the road on your arse. Wet leather is apparently as tough as parma ham.
Me? Rukka Armax textile two piece... probably something to do with being fat and middle aged.
A one piece suit is alright unless you grow taller or shrink shorter. Do they have the feet built in too?
I like the textile stuff better than leather. Although I do like the leather on women.
I have heard people say that leather slides better. But that will not matter much when a car runs over you or you hit an inmovable object. I guess it's whatever you like.
If fit is a problem, you can get them custom made ( at a hefty price though.) I am genetically perfect augie) so off the shelf fit me just fine, although I do have to watch my diet....
They are the safest riding gear out there as thousands of professional riders will attest. Horses for courses, you either like them or you don't.
It's not the "sliding down the road" that kills you when out and about though is it?
It's hitting the car/armco/tree/lamppost/bollard/wall/kerb that kills you, and a one-piece leather will be no more use to you than textile in that situation.

A good friend of mine has 1/2 a gluteus maximus where he came off. The other half remained as a slick on the road. 20 years after his accident he walks with a pronounced limp....Oh yes, he was wearing textiles...
