I just want to mention a website I was asked to visit via a work colleague the other day. Its a site dedicated to the memory of a young lad killed on a scooter. Apparently he struck a defective manhole which threw him from the bike into an oncoming HGV. The petition is to lobby central government regarding the defective roads etc. So if you get a minute take a look and sign the petition if you feel that way inclined. The site is www.4callum.com

Thanks :thumb

This is the petition, a bit hard to find on the home page.

A bit close to home, my youngest lad gets his elder brothers scooter in May so he can go to college on it. His names Callum as well :mmmm

Either link

Whatton is right, that is another way to link but mine will do it also. as long as people look, I dont care which way they go but thanks for the help

It's all very sad, but there are more pressing issues that bikers should be lobbying the Government over. For example, allowing bikes in bus lanes, zero tollerance on diesel spills, green laning etc etc.

Defective manhole covers is pretty low on the radar and, in any event, is mostly a local authority issue, not a government one.

Sorry but I don't think this is an issue much outside London, Where I live we don't have buses, let alone a lane for them! It doesn't kill people to ride in traffic
