Well its happened...... Just when you think it'll never happen to you. My 2 week old 1200 . just finished work.... Jumped on turned the key. Did its checks , pressed the start button................ :nenau

Display went off and little red light started flashing.
Turned it off, back on...... display wouldnt even come on now.... Did this for 5 mins... Just about to kick it. Took the seat off , checked the battery connections. they were fine.
Seat back on . turned key..... started...!!!! :clap dont know why it did this.

Any ideas???? :bow
2 weeks old for f**ks sake
 
Bit like Ctrl-Alt-Del on the old PC - as long as you get going again :D
 
Bazza....do a search using 'side stand switch' and settle in to read...that may well be your problem.

Eventually it might stop (this message that is, not the 1200GS dodgy electrics in my experience, but then again I've sent it back for repairs ;)

Try the following:
a) dont jump on it, sit quitely
b) dont sit on it
c) change seat
 
Bike ECU not recognising ignition key.
Begins intermitently and gets worse.
Seek dealer with computer thingy..........
