Optimate battery charger question

Just noticed that when my 1200GS is on the BMW battery charger the headlamp lights/flickers a small amount about every 10 minutes, is it meant to do that?

Are you connected straight across the battery or through one of the "accessory jacks"?

I just clip mine to the battery terminals and have never noticed the above...

Like lot's of peeps I have added extras to the m/c: heated seat, spots, autocom, satnav. Because of the canbus I have had my dealer fit these for me over the last 12 months and I never really took much notice of where they are connected. Just checked the battery for connectors and I can see that a fused connector has melted: looks like it came very close to catching fire

I will ring the dealer tomorrow and see what they say.
