My old Optimate 11 has just died. None of the lights other than the power on will light.

I remember reading Ride magazine tested several intelligent chargers, the Optimate didn't come out as best. Can anyone tell me what the winner was?

Scroll down a bit and the Accumate came out tops, but the Oxford maximiser looks good in the adverts (but there again it would1)

To fit the Optimate, I use an adaptor that has full size female cigar sockets reducing to a BMW mini socket:augie I, err, didn't realise that this is fused! End of story!

Ooooooh. Go for another one and you get the Triple Crown. :D

I don't know if the Optimate is better than the Accumate (I've never used an Accumate) but I can tell you that I bought an Optimate last week and I'm very impressed with it. The battery on my 1150 GSA was as flat as a witches tit (and no amount of bump starting could get it going - but it was good entertainment for the neighbours) but after plugging in the Optimate overnight it now seems back to normal. I've been meaning to get one for years but never got round to it, but now I plug it in regularly just to keep it charged up. :thumb2

On Dickieboys recommendation, I got one from http://www.thegreenreaper.co.uk/showdetails.asp?id=973

You should get the car/bike adapter as well-

Don't know the chaps name, but I was impressed with his service. No bullshit / sales patter when you speak to him on the phone (seemed to know his stuff & what he had in stock) got an e-mail to confirm the order, a separate e-mail to confirm that the item had been posted and the charger arrived within 17 hours.

You can't get better than that. :thumb2

I did something silly about a month ago :blast

I left the ingition on, on my divvie 900, for a week :o

battery as dead as a dodo, optimate would'nt work,it just would'nt take any charge, I have another charger, a metal cased one that I bought of ebay about 4 years ago, that one has a little red button on the front, which gives the battery a higher voltage shock, I had to do it a few times, but it eventually took a charge and after a couple of days was again fully charged, thats good, as the battery on the Divvie 9 is a right pain to access. :augie
