Anyone know if there is a problem of attaching an optimiser directly to the Battery on the 8 GS. im told it should go straight into the 12v socket but i do not have an attachment for the charger i have.

Mine is connected directly to the battery and has been so for the past year without issue...

No point plugging things into the canbus controlled socket by the ignition switch, cuz unless it's the BMW the system shuts the socket down after a couple of minutes.

I have a Halfords charger, cost £24 and came with a lead you attach to the battery permanently, and leave the fly lead poking out of somewhere (rear grab handles for me).
