I've been looking at a nice 2005 GS 1150 Adventure that has a large amount of engine oil on the lower part of the engine and resting in the bash plate. It's difficult to see where it's coming from but I hope it's maybe the oil pipe that's fractured and nothing more serious. Interestingly on and below the right hand cylinder on what I assume is the timing chain housing it looks like orange gasket sealant has been used. Is this factory sealed or as the engine been apart ? It's only done about 12k mies from new and just seems a little strange. I've looked on my standard GS 1150 and all I can see is a paper gasket, no sign of any orange sealant.
