Got a pair of the cheap Chinese drl’s on my twin cam which to be fair are great and work fine but was thinking of fitting a pair of the original BMW ones, more for originality as much as anything but are they any good as I believe they are fitted with halogen bulbs?? Does this mean they just won’t be as bright as the LED one’s I already have?
Cheers.

The earlier ones were H11 bulbs but they changed to led units around 2011 ish. My 2010 gsa came with fitted with the h11 units but I changed them for led ones a few years later.

I changed my H11 spots for some led ones from I express. They are a similar shape to the GSA spots but are a little smaller. All metal housing too.
Much better light output and a nice white beam.
I'll post a link tonight.

Spotlights.
Hi Gazza, yes that’s what I’ve got at the moment and they seem very good. I just wanted to go for original ones really but not if they are considered not very good/bright. I have considered Denali but ffs those prices are just taking the piss.

I had the stock ones for years but the halogen bulbs weren't very good tbh with an hid bulb in low beam. So I ran hid H11 in the spots too. As led stuff got better it was worth upgrading. Led headlight unit with these complementing with a similar light colour/output. I had to replace the stock spots because a bulb holder broke.
