kinlochleven detour

if you are heading up through glencoe towards fort william you may want to check out the kinlochleven road , it's basically a wee 13 mile or so detour from the normal route ... turn right at glencoe village and head for kinlochleven then on to ballachulish bridge . the road was resurfaced late last year and it's grrrreat !!!! it's guaranteed to put a smile on your face :):):)

I have enjoyed that, cracking photos. I was there in May and loved it, definitely will have to go back.

Good suggestion Kirky. I did the Kinlochleven loop with some other GSers in May/june this year. One of them is still working on his ride report..... Remember the great weather we had for a week or so.....pics here

Better still camp in the Kinlochleven area & have an evening in The Clachaig Inn.

The north side of Loch Leven runs along at water level but as you return you rise above & command a superb view of the surrounding area.

There's plenty of campsites & B&Bs in the area. I've personally stayed in The Stathassynt B&B and the Red Squirrel campsite & can recommend them both.

Terry,

Great write-up and wonderful photos. Kristin and I visited the same places 2 months ago and it is indeed spectacular. I promise I'll not post any photos though, for that would just be rude!!! ;)

Great seeing you at the Fish dash yesterday too. It takes a couple of chains about to keep all those shafts humble :augie

Cheers Si, I've no probs with a couple of pics, on topic but an entire ride report is ripping the arse out of it a bit...I do understand Kirky's enthusiasm in wanting to share...its some place!

Doctor

the Clachaig Inn is indeed a lovely spot, bit pricey though £2.90 for a coffee. It was good though. A few shots from the Kinlochleven rd, High and low
