What a fabulous tool !
Just discovered it and written an app to batch convert jpg''s to pdf's and then merge pdf's. Real chuffed

For those that don't know... and I didn't, its in launchpad,other,automator and allows you to VERY EASILY create your own routine and assign it in different ways.

Ive just discovered this one which I'll have a bash at to rename photo files.
to Apple and its all included on OSX

It has been around for a long while. I've just never needed to use it. I'm impressed you have found a use for it.

Excuse my ignorance, but why would you need to do that??

I have loads of business scanned documents in jpg format dating back 30 years, it's neater to convert to PDF and then group together as one subject documents. There are also many other advantages of PDF, which is another subject.
Automator has made this task a piece of cake.
