Passed somebody parked up in Hornsea this morning, Yellow 1150GS any body from here. Sorry I couldn't stop for a natter but i had to be somewhere else before the wife found me :augie:augie

Was having a quick ride out to test the secondhand Ohlins rear shock and Conti Trail Attacks I have just fitted - What a blooming difference :clap:clap

It was me !

Wondered if you would stop

I was awaiting rescue by my wife

Still not got round to fixing the clutch - runs fine until the engine gets hot - had been the (very ) long way to Brid and it went 5 miles from home at the lights in Hornsea

Went home, made a cup of tea, went back in an hour - it was ok again - until the next time

Sorry chap for not stopping chap.

I was supposed to be decorating or gardening. She went into Hull so I thought sod it and jumped on the bike.

Where abouts in Holderness are you based? maybe we can catch up for a coffee sometime.

Hope you sort the clutch out soon, mine was goosed when the oil seal went where the push rod goes through - big job:(

Don't worry about the not stopping bit - as I said, my good wife was on the way to pick me up

I'm in Withernwick, where are you ?

Were the symptoms of your clutch the same ? I'm about to get parts in for this weekend

There is nothing worse than standing at the side of the road watching people whizz past!!!!

I live in Keyingham for my sins, been here nearly 2 years since leaving the RAF. Not riding my bike as much as I'd like to as I always seem to be either working or DIYing.

My clutch would slip if I revved it hard ie overtaking  It was the oil seal behind the slave cylinder w
letting oil flow along the push rod and onto the friction plate. Centrifugal forces would fling it all over the plate and a little oil goes a long way. You can tell if the oil seal has gone as there will be oil weeping at the gearbox/engine joint.

Are you doing it yourself then?
I think Sherlocks in Devon is the best place for clutch kits.

Give us a shout if you want a hand - Braver man than me :augie

Hi

A friend from Beverley is going to help ( more like other way round ) me fix this weekend. We are going to tour the Baltic at the end of May so it needs to be done.

Did you do your's ?

Have you got a contact number for advice if it all grinds to a halt ?

No dramas old chap. I had help from a fully trained BMW mechanic when the bike was in Cyprus but I did the oil seal myself with the aid of a good book :augie

My mobile number is 07791376267

Give us a bell or text me your address and I might pop in and introduce myself and see how your getting on
