Got up this morning, pulled back the curtains and thought - let's go for a spin.
I've always wanted to see this place having seen it on a map many years ago, so i took a few pics. Got the bike to about 150 yards, could go no further due to a padlock on a gate -
The lump of rock is known as Downpatrick Head in Mayo about 10 miles from photo 20 in GS photo competition. I was brought up in Downpatrick hence the interest. There's even a statue to St Patrick, similar to the one at Saul. I tried to get the bike up to the edge much to the surprise of a few oriental visitors. Could you jump across, don't think so but some tosser might.
Round trip was 396 miles. Company was ipod plus millions of midgies. A great day.
