Folks

I'm out on a 1300 GSA with the auto box for the day as my 1250 GSA is in for a service.

Is there a 'Sports' setting as it's putting itself into 6th by 45mph ish using Auto mode?

my car tries the same so I nudge it into 'S' and that's better..

I know I can use Manual/Semi Auto & have done that for a bit.

Cheers

See Teapot ones review, exactly the same happened to him,

he had to keep it in manual to use the box how he wanted

Thanks folks & I'll go have a play..

I only want the gearbox to change, not anything else as the roads are salt dusty & slimy too - I'll keep all my rider aids nice and safe for now.

Is this a low bike - anyone tell from the pic?

I’ll ask when I get back and already put the seat up.

Looks like a low seat on a normal bike with comfy suspension that lowers at low speed for short arse riders like me.

I don’t think they do a low suspension bike anymore, since they have the auto lower at slow speed or stopped option if you need it. They do offer low and high seats.

Thanks for your help folks and indeed the Dynamic 'improved' it over standard very slightly, but I was still very glad to give it back and get back on mine.

Not often a demo ride saves yo money, but today's did!!

I can only equate the experience to putting 2 more teeth on a front sprocket and having the chain so slack it could jump off..

Yes, Just switch to Dynamic mode and it stretches the gears out.
......Also put it into ''M'' and you can do what you want through the gears yourself, just no clutch lever.
I can imagine that if you really want to crack it open and prefer the somewhat clunkier quick shifter on the 1250 GSA - I did actually really like that until I rode the ASA - then indeed, the much smoother gearbox on the 1300 does seem a bit alien.
I actually find it much easier and nicer to ride but then I also only took it for 50km test run. ...and also for an older fart like me maybe because I'm getting softer in my old age..
I did find that when I did crack it open in ''D'' mode it really took off.....
....horses for courses as they say......

Thank you & I did try the manual mode too. The gear lever has no mechanical feedback through my Daytonas as I guess it's just a micro switch & I found that odd. You can apply pressure to a conventional lever and feel for the right time to change up/down.

Oh it's quick alright - no complaints in the 'Go' department,

I found it really odd changing gears mid corner & especially so as it lurches so much.. I do get it - honestly I do, but try the DCT from Honda too as from memory that was 'nicer'.. Then again I was wrapped up in Gold Wing loveliness!!!

Its shouldn't change gear in a corner. The gyro wont allow that ?
It 100% definitley did.... But... I thought that was odd so gave it some beans in a long corner or 2 and you're right - it hung on to the gear.

Go with traffic around a medium Peterborough sized roundabout and it changes up or down with the appropriate lurch during the roundabout and on the exit. it then wants to be in 6th by 50mph too..

Like I say, very happy to give it back.

👍👍👍

Haven’t tried a Wing although to some on here that is sacrilege 🤣🤣🤣
I have heard the same. The Honda automatic gearbox is much nicer than the ASA. But I do still like the GSA so at the mo will stick to that
