This time last week the new owner of my 1200GSA was on his way home to Portugal with his lovely new bike and I was considering my options on what next :augie
I only had a budget of around 5K and although KTM's were considered, I could only really get a 950 for that money and really wanted to have ABS, so trawling the adverts for 1150's it was :D

Picked up this 'little' beauty on Wednesday :bounce1

2002 Adventure with ABS (but no servo :thumb) with 26K miles on the clock. Road it home and am very pleased with my purchase, although the TKC's with very little pressure in them on wet roads was a little interesting

Going to spend the weekend fettling and farkling it but still need to source a few bits and pieces to get it to what I want.

It feels good to be an 1150 owner.......I have felt that I can let my belly hang out a little further and can already sense a faint smell of wee :D

Congratulations! I've also made the move from a 1200 back to an 1150 and am far happier as a result.

Nice looking bike, had one from new in 2003 then an SE in 2006 ,loved the SE .Why did you go back though, was the 1200 any bother? I would love one of the 1150 GSA 's as well as my 1200 but could not justify it at the momment .Good luck with your new bike:thumb

Would have loved an SE and missed out on one by a couple of days :(

The 1200 was no bother at all, it was my second one and in 25K miles I had no issues (other than some warped discs replaced under warranty) with either. The change was purely money driven, some changes in our household means that we need to be more careful and having a large chunk of money tied up in a bike that was not being used that much, meant it had to go. I have an X-challenge which gets used for getting muddy and the short trip to work, so the big bike is for weekends away with the wife and hopefully more long trips next year.

I have to say though, given the horror stories I have heard on here, I am not sure I would be truly at ease with a 1200 out of warranty.

'In with the old' indeed, what a wise decision, great looking bike, enjoy :D

Thanks for comments guys.

Did some fiddling (with the bike!!!) this morning and found a couple of potential problems but nothing to taint the fact I love it:D

I went for a quick spin and it feels great, I certainly didn't feel it was slower or less nimble than the 1200, in fact it feels smaller than the 12:nenau

The torque seem better and it seems more responsive lower down the range and the handling was good. The brakes are probably the weakest point compared to the 1200, but the pads are low and the fluid needs a change so hopefully that will improve.

Very pleased :D
