...freezes only when I attempt to attach (any kind of) file in a new email.
Can anyone help please? please? microsoft don't have an answer....

Norton System works can't find a problem
Detect and Repair could not find a problem- software reinstalled
NoAdware did not find a problem neither did norton anti virus
Windows defender - no problem reported
Seriously lost as to what to do to resolve this
Ran Windows Restore - no difference
No new software on my PC
Outlook just suddenly freezes- as soon as I click the papewr clip. it opens a window to allow me to chose a file/folder then freezes... then crashes outlook.

i'd also try disabling/uninstalling norton

Only on large files or any size?
How are you attaching them to the email? - try drag'n'drop from Windows Explorer.
I'd guess at the virus checker causing it - have you tried switching off the Anti-virus before starting Outlook.

ah ha!

Well, clicking on the paperclip still offers up a window to explore and get the file but then freezes. (whether norton enabled OR disabled)
File size makes no difference nor does folder location

The problem is still there BUT interestingly, drag and drop works!
