Outlook Xpress

Hi Gents, Finally got round to backing up Outlook Express, but all my folders are saved as DBX Files & my PC using XP professional can't open them.Tried to open them with Outlook Express, but all I get is a blank address page.Is there a program that will allow me to read these files. Cheers in advance Ken.

Thanks, but I have created a back up folder and placed it on my desktop,but all the files are DBX and when I click on them I am told that Windows can't open them.

They have to be opened from within the application using the import function of OE.

However, in the days of multiple platforms I can't see why an email client is needed on a personal computer. The cloud is where it's at. I have several legacy email addresses from old ISPs etc and I manage them all through a single Gmail account from any device with an internet connection.

If the email account is a business account then you should use a more robust system that automatically archives your data to offsite storage every day.

Which is fine until you are somewhere where there is no internet access signal, and you need to access to the email that you have downloaded but haven't processed yet, or need to access an older email.

The Cloud is not a panacea yet.

And everyone seems to have forgotten everything that happened at Blackberry last year when the world only stopped for a few days after a simple failure!!!
