Location
Overland and classic, vale of belvoir,Melton Mowbra
following the 1200 workshop which everyone seemed to enjoy,:blagblah
i/we have come up with some ideas for an airhead tech session,
thanks to duncan(arkwright) and Rob Farmer for volunteering their time/expertise
the basic plan is this;
12 tossers split into two groups,
one group will spend the morning with rob,
the other with Duncan.
after lunch the groups will swap over.
there is a few details to iron out and hopefully Duncan and Rob will post up in more detail what they plan to cover in the sessions.
Robs session will cover stripping and rebuilding gearboxes, this is intended to be very"hands on",working in pairs on some gearboxes Rob is bringing over.
Duncan will be demonstrating servicing and set up/tuning on a complete machine on the bike lift.
both of these chaps are like walking encyclopidias of all things airhead which is why i have asked them to run the workshops.
i will be chief tea boy.:thumb
the cost for the day will be £30
this will include ;bacon butties for breakfast, buffet lunch, afternoon cakes:D
and tea/coffee all day.
there will only be 12 places available as more than six around a bike is just too crowded.
my workshop is 5miles north of melton mowbray at le14 4sz
the workshop is heated so we wont be shivering in a shed:thumby:

Assuming my airhead is back in one piece, and I'm in the country, yes please! Put down as a tentative :thumb2

I'd be interested in that too! I think that Oldenoughtoknowbetter might be keen as well. Can never stop learning about the airheads( particularly paralevers:blast)

I've forwarded to my young brother in law to be who's about to embark on his first airhead build. I'm sure he'll be well up for this.

If you do an 11XX session at some point I'd like to come along please:):thumby:

Oh, meant to say what I'm interested in, to help your planning for the day:

Carb strip, what faults to look for, reassemble, tappets, ignition timing, setting up carbs (mixture etc), balancing carbs...basic engine tune.

I'm running a standard 80ST.

Entertainment....Internet Radio Caroline, Peter Anthony, 9am - 12 midday. :D

AIRHEAD DAY

Yes I would love to come alone as I am taking apart and tidying up the R 90 S and turning it into a 'ginger ' for next year.

Yes please

If there's still a chance I'll have it please

Usually I'd use £30 for getting someone else to sort my bikes and save me having to get dirty finger nails.

However, sign me up, I may learn a way of doing things without grazing my knuckles.

Money on its way.

(By the way, I still want my RT servicing)

It looks like you've already reached your quota but if anybody drops out can I be on the standby list, please? Mine's an '82 R 100RS :)
