Oxford Panniers

The days are counting down until 1st March! On my 1150gs I had TT panniers & very happy I was with them too. However, rather than splash out 500 - 800 pounds for a new set for the 1200 I am considering Oxford soft panniers.
I initially tried these on the 1150gs, but my pillion found that she could not get her feet on the foot pegs. The combination of the design of the bike and panniers meant the panniers could not be mounted far enough back - givi top box also fitted.
Has anyone tried Oxford'd on their 1200gs with a pillion? If so, how did the pillion get on with them?
I appreciate the advantages of the hard v soft panniers, but I would like to make the most of the weight saving.

I have a set of Oxford panniers in the loft, hardly used them prior to getting the 1200GS, and was intending to stick them on ebay in the Spring.

I will dig them out and see how they fit in the near future.

I've also got some Oxford soft panniers, haven't used em on the GS though. However they are certainly excellent quality and have given good service over the last few years. Definitely good value for money.

Offside pannier fits a treat. Near side one interferes with the exhaust. No problem for my pillion passenger.

I'll get some pics at the weekend and post them here when my "sponsors" membership is processed.

Please find attached a photo of my GS with oxford panniers.
My pillion didn't have any bother with them fitted. The nearside pannier sits a bit close to the exhaust, but far enough away not to burn.


The panniers were bought for my last bike and only used once on it and once on the GS. I would prefer a set of BMW hard panniers so these ones are up for sale. No reasonable offer refused.

I've actually just ordered a set of BMW hard panniers myself now too.... all set for delivery of new GS12, just a pity i've got to wait till end of March !!!!!

I would say a set of Oxford bags looks pretty neat on the GS. I am sure it could take a few days worth of stuff for the weekend trip.
How much do they cost new anyway??

The Oxford Panniers shown on my bike cost £119 last May, but I believe that you can get them slightly cheaper now, Mine are for sale. £65 ono.

I would like to take up your offer KC but unfortunately I reside here in Bangkok so I would say shipping costs would be very expensive.
