Quite a long way from the top
Got a few trips being planned necessitating decent luggage. I’ve a set of Touratech Zega 2 in the garage which will fit if I purchase the appropriate frames @ circa £270.
If I buy Triumph stuff it’s looking nearer £600 for panniers and all the associated parts. I like the idea of low down weight as opposed to a top box and throw over bag which may just make a slightly top heavy bike even more so.

Before I commit what should I also be considering instead of the above? One trip will be a long 99% tarmac route though I’m weighing up a Portugal off road / road 50/50 trip too which brings soft luggage into the equation.

Any experience / recommendations welcome. It’s for my later model Rally Pro. Fire away please

I had the full Triumph luggage on my Rally Pro 900. It was very well made, fitted well and seemed pretty secure compared to soft luggage. My cases were black. I wouldn’t go for black again as they get very hot inside in summer. They also get very hot to touch on the tops.
My GSA came with the usual aluminium cases and they are much cooler both inside and to touch.

Believe so now. Mine certainly didn’t unless they were sold on prior to my ownership

I like the OE stuff but they are expensive to buy after market. Good point about the colour, hadn’t considered that

Have a look at Lings Triumph deals they have discounted pannier rails etc

Had a good look - sadly all the cheap stuff is for up to 24 MY. Tinterweb suggest Triumph tweaked the exhaust angle for later bikes making the frames not transferable.

My 900 GT Pro came with free panniers, same as my previous lemon of a 1200 GT Explorer.

They’re well made and easy to load with cheap inner bags from eBay. They’re well made also seem to be watertight after a 220 mile ride from Ullapool to Inveraray in horrendous weather a couple of weeks ago

I use the Kriega os system on mine if Im going off road. The mounting plates fit my touratec racks.

Cheers chaps

I’m ordering the Touratech frames since I have panniers already. Gives me the option as above of using soft luggage too if the need arises.
