Hi - I seem to have lost my Haynes manual.. :blast

Please could someone advise me of the correct quantities of fork oil for my R100GS P-D 1992?

If I recall, it's different for each leg???

Cheers,

Paul

There's a factory repair manual here Paul http://www.actiontouring.com/bmwtech/manual.pdf

0.41 litres in Left leg
0.44 litres in Right

What oil are you using? Don't use 5W it's way too thin. 10W works much better and is the factory recommended (Shell Komfort) but Some people prefer 7.5w in the left and 10w in the right.

Many thanks for the data Rob, and also the manual... I'll be using that!

Re the viscosity, I searched hard for 5W but failed to find any so bought some 10W and decided I'd see whether I could get away with that.. :)

Cheers!

Airheads are great, aren't they, I could probably use Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the kitchen and get away with it..!

The Howard Millichap Fork Oil Formula is -

Left leg - 16.25W (75% 15W and 25% 20W) 410mL
Right leg - 15W 440mL

If the legs are completely dismantled, 470mL in each leg.

I think I shall be trying this formula with mine.
