Did you notice any shading when you took them off? If done before the weather gets at the paint, there shouldn't be any.
Just curious; with a bit of warm air, those type of decals usually just peel off after they are lifted at the edge with a fingernail. Were these little guys reluctant to leave?

The decals needed more than a little bit of warm air and you'd burn your fingers of you try a fingernail method. Not paint stripper hot, but needs to be very warm and a credit card worked well, with no scratching (plastic against plastic) and no discolouration whatsoever.
Mine didn't peel easily, to be honest, but within anyone's capability.
