Has anyone else had the problem below?

I have paired my galaxy s3 with the Nav 4 with no problems.
When i try to pair my Q3 with the GPS on either channel 1 or 2, the helmet speaker partially announced paired with phone and then the Q3 shuts down completely.
I have reset the bluetooth connections on the Q3 and the Nav 4, but keep getting the same end result.
After an attempted pairing when i try to start up the Q3 with the Nav 4 switched on the Q3 again partially announces paired with phone and switches off immediately....................bearing in mind that my mobile is paired with the satnav and not my Q3.

Bloody confusing to say the least! I have emailed Cardo, but thought i would ask the question on here too, as i'm sure someone else will have had the same issue.

Cheers in advance

Your scala will only pair with one device at a time. Switch off the blutooth on your phone whilst pairing the scala with the sat nav.

I have tried that and it doesnt work either. i dont want the scala paired to the phone anyway as it is paired via the NAV 4 anyway, if i can get the bloody thing working.
From what i can find on the net there is an issue between the firmware 1.1 of the Q3 and the navigator 4 / zumo 660 software which wont allow the two to pair.

After much searching on the net it appears that you need to edit the name of the zumo to make the Q3 pair with it.
It seems that there is a problem with the firmware of the Q3 as of 1.1 apparently 1.0 worked fine. Only problem now is that it wont let me play music through the player as it says the Q3 is not recognised as being A2DP..................which it is. I hope Cardo system get their act together soon lol

Cardo Q3 and Navigator IV

Having the same issue. Have gone round in circles for two weeks. Thought it was the headset not taking a charge and turning off. Back to dealer last week and changed units. Only worked out today it was the Nav turning of the unit as it connected. Searched and found your comment. Want nave and music so back to dealer and go for refund in the morning.

Hi Kevin,

I managed to get a response from Cardo systems which creates a work around while they develop new firmware for the Q3.

Please read below their response............................the most important change is renaming the satnav to exactly what they have it to be changed to, it make the satnav prompts and also mps music player work through the headset.

Hello Garry,

Thank you for contacting the Cardo Systems Support Center.

This is a bug that we are aware of when trying to connect the scala rider Q3 to the BMW Nav IV after the Q3 has been updated to V1.1. Our R&D team is currently working on a resolution. However, we have found a workaround that resolves the issue which is listed in the steps below.

I would recommend to use the following steps to reset your devices and create new pairings between them.

To reset your scala rider Q3 headset(s):
1. Turn the scala rider Q3 module on by pressing and holding the IC button until three (3) blue flashes appear.
2. With the Q3 flashing slowly in blue, press and hold the Volume Up button until you receive a red and blue alternating flash.
3. Release the Volume Up button. With the device flashing red and blue alternating, press and hold the MM button for approximately three (3) seconds. The red and blue flashing should change to a slow, solid purple flash.
4. The headset will flash purple slowly, approximately five (5) times, followed by three (3) red flashes.
5. The module should then be powered off, indicating that the reset has been completed. Repeat these steps with your second Q3 headset at this time.

To create a new pairing between your scala rider Q3 headsets:
1. Turn both scala rider Q3 modules on by pressing and holding the IC button until three (3) blue flashes appear on each headset.
2. Make sure both modules are in stand-by mode, which is indicated by a single blue flash every three (3) seconds.
3. From one Q3 module, press and hold the IC button until the module begins to flash red rapidly. You will see three red flashes like the deivce is powering off, but keep the button held in until it flashes red rapidly. This is the Intercom Pairing mode.*
4. Repeat step 3 on the second Q3 module.
5. Both modules should continue to show a rapid red flash until they have found each other. At that time, each module will simultaneously show a solid red light for a few seconds. Both headsets will return to stand-by mode simultaneously after that, indicating that the pairing process has been completed.**

*Once the Q3 module is in Intercom Pairing mode, it will return to stand-by automatically after two (2) minutes if a pairing is not completed.
**If both modules do not show a solid red for a few seconds and one headset returns to stand-by mode before the other, the headsets did not complete the pairing process successfully.

To reset the BMW Navigator, you must hold your finger on the lower-right corner of the GPS screen while turning the device on. Keep your finger pressed until the ‘Clear data’ message appears. Touch yes to clear all user data.
(Note: These resets will restore the devices to its factory settings. All user data will be erased. Please refer to the GPS manuals for instructions on backing up any data you wish to save).

After the BMW Navigator is reset, please go to the Bluetooth menu of the GPS and change the Bluetooth name of your BMW Nav IV GPS to "Zumo BMW #3867671890" exactly as it appears minus the quotation marks.

To pair a scala rider Q3 headset with your GPS:
1. Turn the scala rider Q3 module on by pressing and holding the Control button until three (3) blue flashes appear.
2. With the Q3 flashing slowly in blue, press and hold the Volume Up button until you receive a red and blue alternating flash.
3. Once the Q3 module is flashing red and blue alternating, search for/Add a Bluetooth ‘audio’ device/headset from your GPS.
4. The GPS should momentarily discover the ‘scala rider Q3’. Select it to pair. If prompt for a pass key, this will be four zeros (0000).
5. The GPS should momentarily confirm that the pairing has been completed, and the headset should return to stand-by mode.

Please feel free to contact us if we can assist you with any other questions.

Great result and got it working. Thanks.
One question...... Is there a way to stream music from the phone via the gps to the Scalarider Q1?
Ie get the gps to think that streaming music is a phone call and set the priority for phone over streaming music.

Any help appreciated.
