Drawing a bit of a blank getting a panel mountable USB socket, needs to be weather proof and good quality. :nenau

Basically it is to provide a iPhone charging point in the new dash i am building. I will then use a sync lead to charge it.

Found some crap chinese eBay stuff and out of stock in UK that looked ok

From their site:-

Powerlink Products are designed and manufactured in the UK.

Time to head out back and fecking make some more

To be fair it does say 1 week but i was hoping to start makings some progress at Mikeyboy's, told him i'd have all the bits sorted when he returned from his trip :blast

I generally charge from the USB in my tank bag which was a home made job , but I've got waterproof marine plugs and cable spare so might look for a USB socket only a rig one up so I don't need to take the tank bag everywhere ... :bounce1

Yes some nice hardware but I'm assuming that some electrical skill and additional hardware would be needed to produce 5v. I'm not saying it cant be done just is it worth the extra effort :nenau

No idea about the voltage but I'm sure if you called RS they could tell you, they've been helpful to me in the past. there's a branch in Nottingham.

It looks like power link products have got stock again and added more products including a DIN to USB, alas this was to late for me :blast

I happened to try J&S in Nottingham and they had a Oxford products one that much to my surprise seems to be of better quality than the above.
However it was £30 :eek The weather seal cap is fantastic and although the other has a screw cap its method of attachment (when plugs in use) is flimsy.

Heres a linky
