Pannier capacity question

Well, have discovered the expanding pannier bit on the standard BMW side cases. Helmet fits easy in the right one now. Still getting used to filtering with the panniers on. I realise they dont make the bike wider than the bars but at least you can see the bars as you filter past cars.

Can you fit a box or more than one of Krispy Kreme donuts in there?
