pannier clips/inserts

Help!

I've lost one of the black plastic pannier inserts - the ones that drop into the pannier frame lugs. Do I just pay BMW £4.10 for one of these or is there another way?

anybody got spares?

Make sure you get the right ones! I got caught out - they changed the shape of them very slightly for the Adventure and 06 onwards models.

I may have some lying around - which one is missing and what year is the bike?

actually, no.

I was really interested in finding out what other people did to replace or if they rode without the inserts - it seems strange that when a custom pannier is fitted to a custom rack that you need spacers at all! This is probably why one fell off - I didn't realise that it wasn't firmly fixed.

still - live and learn and superglue!

Lost one of mine and I asked Battersea to replace it when I was in for a 6k service. I mentioned that it should be replaced under warranty but they said BMW wouldn't honor a warranty claim unless they got the old one back....something about a bunch lost top-boxes.

.... All credit to Battersea though because they gave it to me Gratis....but its something to keep in mind if anything more expensive falls off

Wrap a bit of black tape round them and you wont lose anymore

Now they will not come out. The front and rear are different.
