Hello

Just bought a 1100GS. does anyone have any advice on the best panniers for not getting in the way of a pillion.

all the fancy ali ones look nice but look like they'd get in the way of a pillion's legs?

Welcome to the forum, I use the BMW ones which are fine for my needs and they don't interfere with the pillion, its me that interferes with her :grndevil :grndevil

cheers, no doubt i'll have plenty of silly questions in the near future.

what does that button do?
is it meant to make that noise?
what does that flashing light mean?

etc, etc

Only been out on the bike twice but i likes it. Bit heavier than the supermotard i'm used to though. Perhaps the next question should be ... how do i pick this bike up?

This system sits low and Forward.
And swmbo has no problems gettin on and off.
You can see they sit below the seat.

I've had both the standard BMW panniers and have now fitted the standard Touratech panniers. Both leave the pillion plenty of room, surprisingly, the Touratech panniers leave more room than the standard BM cases.

Disadvantage of TT cases is that my lovely wife now has to put more effort into getting on and off the bike, as the cases stick out much more, requiring the pillion to stretch the legs more to miss the cases. Advantage of the TT cases (apart from being bigger) is that they are easier to pack (being a normal shape) and the weight is carried lower and further forward.
