Anyhoo here`s my findings on your suggestion of substituting the ally bar end part for steel. Sorry that, IMHO, it won`t make any noticeable difference.
Hiya Terry, I`ve spent some time on this but in my humble opinion I think that the weight increase is going to be negligible in resolving your particular problem.
The problem is keeping within the confines of the end of the bar and despite thickening it slightly it will simply be a `drop in the ocean` - when you consider that my bar ends for instance, are a huge 270g whereas the increase over alloy will be a very small fraction of this and in my opinion won`t have any effect.
Sorry to put the dampeners on it but that's really what I think based on the experience of the comparatively massive weight gain I had to build into my bar ends to reduce the vibration.
The only other way would be to extend the fastener and stick further round weights on the fastener shank but that will look shite (and get me a right slagging on the forum
